Masood Ahmed Khurshid Sanori Sahib

Elucidates

Masood Ahmed Khurshid Sanori Sahib explains in detail and illustrates how his father was always busy in the remembrance of Allah; be it in the recitation of glorification and praise of Allah or reciting Durood Sharif. Therefore when in 1963, Hadhrat Mirza Nasir Ahmed Sahib advised the Jama’at to recite Durood Sharif many times each day; he would recite it some times up to 500 times and sometimes upto 700 times daily. He not only prayed himself but also told his children repeatedly; to pray regularly, thoughtfully, in a dignified manner and to perform the Tahajjud prayers as well. If ever, any of his children was in trouble; he would tell them to get close to God, serve the Jama’at, say your prayers in a proper manner; then pray and I will also pray for you. He himself always prayed fervently, with a yearning and abandonment.

His prayers:

He prayed so ardently that it would seem as if his spirit has melted away at the altar of The Creator. Khurshid Sahib says that I have myself heard his cries many a night as he prayed and so are the people who hosted him, a witness to his ardour while praying to Allah. He would recite the Promised Messiah (as)’s Persian verses repeatedly as he prayed.

Hadhrat Musleh Mauood (ra) narrated to Hadhrat Nawab Mubarikah Begum Sahiba (ra), that he squeals as he prays. Sahibzadi Amatul Shakoor Sahiba(Daughter of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih the IIIrd) wrote in a letter that he begs from Allah as if he would not leave him till he got what he was asking for.

Hadhrat Maulana Abul Atta Sahib(ra) said that Hadhrat Molvi Sahib was a very prayerful Buzurg, who prayed with tearful eyes.

Maulana Abdul Malik Khan Sahib says that: many a times I have seen him praying so fervently, that his anguish was like that of a goat being slaughtered. I cannot explain in words; how his tear filled eyes glistened during those moments, anyway my heart would melt at this. I have heard him praying in a loud voice and concluded that his words were very comprehensive; as the Promised Messiah (as) had so thoroughly rooted the philosophy of prayer in the hearts of his followers; as a nail imbedded in a wall strengthens it.

That is why he laid such emphasis on the importance of prayers, he believed in this saying of the Promised Messiah(as) , from the depth of his heart, that only prayers can cause things to happen. He always quoted this narration by Huzoor(as), where he has stated that,

قل ما یعبئوا بکم ربی لو لا دعاوکم (الفرقان: )

That if you do not pray; then Allah will not care for you;77

He respected all members of the family of the Promised Messiah (as) and always tried to invite them at all private functions. To gain blessings, he invited the Khulafa for dinner at his house quite often.

His love for Hadhrat Musleh Mauood (ra) was boundless to the degree of devoutness. Huzoor would graciously accept his humble request for dinner, therefore he says I used to invite Huzoor for dinner at my house in Qadian and thus reap blessings and his prayers.

It was revealed to him many years beforehand, in 1942 that at the time of demise, his age will be nearly 90.

Basking in the blessed company of the Promised Messiah (as):

Hadhrat Molvi Qudratullah Sanori Sahib (ra), was able for a long time, to see with his very own eyes and to benefit from, the blessed company of the Promised Messiah (as). He was blessed with many a chance of staying in Qadian to enjoy that pure company. He got the honour of pressing the Promised Messiah (as)’s feet.

Molvi Sahib’s enthusiasm for beholding the Holy personage of the Promised Messiah (as) was so intense that, when he went to Qadian, on his way to Sanor, to pick up a letter referring him to his would-be in laws, for a second marriage. The Promised Messiah was unwell, so did not at first come outside for Mulaqat but Molvi Sahib, in his anguish of love, sent this message to his beloved that:

‘If I die during my journey neither will I get married, nor will I get a chance for Mulaqat! So I will not leave without Mulaqat.’

So at last, Huzoor came outside; he had applied henna to his hair and tied a cloth over it. Molvi Sahib presented a gift (cash) and requested for prayers. Huzoor laughingly said:

‘I have written a letter and have been informed of what you said.’

During the era of the Khilafat of the first and the second Khulafa, he would take leave from his job and stay in Qadian for long periods of time. He would essentially attend their Dars of the Holy Quran.

Attending the Dars Musajjaleen:

Hadhrat Musleh Mauood (ra), delivered a special Dars, named as Dars e Musajjaleen. Molvi Sahib (ra) attended this Dars with such a fervour that he neglected or rather declined to attend his official duty and went back only after the Dars was complete.

When Hadhrat Musleh Mauood (ra) proceeded for Hajj in 1914, during that period under Hadhrat AmmaN Jan(ra)’s order, stayed in Qadian for a long time and prayed for Huzoor and the Jama’at.

Tabligh:

He did tabligh to Muslims and non Muslims during his term of employment in Patala(State of India). So, quite a number of people joined the Jama’at through his efforts. At one time 36 people did ba’ait through his motivation. He would even advise Sikh notables to write letters requesting prayers to Hadhrat Musleh Mauood (ra).

Donations:

He paid donations even exceeding his means and said that during my employment, I always calculated my income, paid all dues beforehand and observed the bounties showered by Allah.
