Birth to Bai’at; biography

Compiled by Masood Ahmed Khurshid Sanori Sahib

My father Hadhrat Molvi Qudratullah Sanori sahib (ra) was born in 1300(Hijra) and named Ghulam Mustafa (meaning servant of the Holy Prohet(Peace be upon him); therefore Allah the Almighty, fulfilled the prophecy in the name, as he always remained an obedient servant of The Holy Prophet(Peace be upon Him), and we pray that he  may even rise as such, on the day of resurrection.

Hadhrat Molvi Qudratullah Sanori Sahib (ra) has himself narrated the historic event, when the Promised Messiah (as) went to Sanor. His father Molvi Muhammad Moosa(ra) told him that:

‘You were in my arms as I stood in front of the window. As Huzur(as) brought out his hand to be shaken; you(being an infant), thought he was bringing his hand forward to take you in his arms, so you leaned towards him, Huzur(as) held you with his hand, shook your hand, stroked your hair and said:

‘’Mian, lets shake hands with you first’’…

Hadhrat Molvi Abdullah Sanori Sahib humbly requested that ‘there are two children with us, please pray for them. (One being Qudratullah and the other Rehmatullah,  his own son).

Huzur instructed to place them in his lap one after the other. Then as he got seated on a stool, he took the boys in his lap one after the other and prayed for them.

As he grew up,  guided by the Mercy of Allah himself; the Promised Messiah (as)’s potent purity drew his spirit to Himself. He wrote a letter of Bai’at first and then in 1898 AD, he did Bai’at in person. Allah be praised for this.

His mother, father and grandfather, all were admitted into the fold of Companions of the Promised Messiah (as) due to his motivation. His Mother and father are buried in the ‘Qitae Sahaba’ of the Bahishti Maqbara Qadian.

Allah the Almighty granted him the advantage to reap benefit from the company of the Promised Messiah (as) and after him, did Bai’at of three of his Khulafa as their loyalist. He took pride in the fact that Allah had granted him the opportunity to perform Bai’at four times.

Bond with his Creator:

Allah the Almighty revealed the year of the second Khilafat to him in a state of ‘Kashf’.  The verse no: 17:80

عسیٰ اَن یبعثک ربک مقاما محمودا

of the Holy Quran was shown to him as underlined and the figure 1914 was written on top of it. (Huroof e abjad…). He wrote the whole kashf to Hadhrat Musleh Mauood (ra) in a letter immediately.

He prayed fervently for Huzoor’s health and the success of his tour during Huzoor’s tour of Europe. Molvi Sahib requested Huzoor to pray for a lady Sadiqa Haider Sahiba, who had had no children after many years of marriage and soon after this she was blessed a with child.

Some praiseworthy attributes of his personality:

Allah had granted him a good humoured nature, one never tired of his company. He would narrate anecdotes of his years of working life, incidents of the time of the Promised Messiah (as) and Hadhrat Musleh Mauood (ra); in such a delightful way that it would amuse the listener. His conversation had a tone of dignity in it. He would recite the verses of the Holy Quran in a melodious voice. He was very sensitive and passionate in regards to matters regarding the honour of religion. He disliked any practice which was against Islamic teachings. Whenever he had chance to stay at anyone’s house; he would only agree to stay if all members of the household agreed to pray in congregation with him.

He respected all BUZURGAN E DEEN , Scholars of the Jama’at and Ameers of Jama’at. He would say that an Ameer is the representative of the Khalifa, so you must respect and obey him. He would strongly advise us to respect the scholars of the Jama’at because Allah has granted them a high status and they have devoted their lives for the cause of faith. So it is our duty to respect them. He would present gifts to them and advised his children to do so too. He always helped and provided financial support to those serving the Jama’at.

He helped those in need; widows and orphans, without letting others know. He also gave loans to those who asked for it and advised his children for the same. He would send Fidya in Ramadhan to those in need. He would give away a good quality new dress every year, to someone needy, on behalf of his wife who had passed away. He relied immensely on Allah and his Grace and would recite a Persian verse meaning:

If you have God as your Helper; What grief could befall you

If God is Yours; What grief would you have
